Eisenhower High School football player, Michael Hawkins, was named County Football Player of the Year in the San Bernardino Sun newspaper. In the Sunday, December 17, 2000, edition of The Sun, Hawkins was celebrated for putting together an incredible season.
As mentioned in the article, Coach Tom Hoak regards Hawkins as being worthy of receiving CIF player of the year. Hawkins final stats for the season--he caught 47 passes for 857 yards and 10 touchdowns as well as 489 yards rushing.
In addition to Michael Hawkins, Atili Faalaulau and C.J. Jones were named to The Sun's 2000 All-County team.
