Eisenhower High School -
Virtual Hi-Tech High

During the 1999-2000 school year, Eisenhower High School will begin preparing for Virtual Hi-Tech High (VHTH). This program will develop a regional educational partnership with links to post-secondary education, high-tech businesses and industry.

VHTH will be implemented as a school-within-a-school model delivering a rigorous technology-enhanced core curriculum and real world experiences to participating students. Students will participate in interdisciplinary project-based learning activities that incorporate other subject matter skills. Beginning with the first year of implementation, junior and senior level students will have access to Virtual Hi-Tech High programs upon application and commitment to participate in a rigorous, 8-hour extended school day. The extended day schedule will focus on the development of technology-infused student project learning opportunities, internships, and on-site business learning opportunities. Students will be selected based on criteria that are inclusive and reflective of the demographics of our high school.
