The April 14, 2002 edition of the San Bernardino Sun continued a tradition begun in 1989 of showcasing the members of the All-County Academic Team. In the words of one of the judges, Christine McGrew, "You have to be remarkable just to be nominated."
Nominees must complete application forms providing transcripts, information on extracurricular activities as well as college and career plans. The nominees must also complete a 250 word or less essay on an assigned topic.
Adam Martinez of Eisenhower High School was one of the 15 seniors selected from the 37 nominees. Adam holds a GPA of 4.06 and has scored 1410 on the SAT. In addition, he has taken AP classes in calculus, literature, and physics while taking German IV this year.
