The Rialto Unified School District Board of Education unanimously approved the 18th Elementary School to be named after longtime child advocate Charlotte Nan Werner.
Mrs. Werner worked briefly as a noon duty aide at Henry Elementary School in the early 1990s. She was also an Instructional Assistant at Morgan Elementary School where she worked from March 13, 1997 until June 29, 2000. She was also a parent volunteer who was instrumental in being a Parent Teacher Association leader at Morgan, Henry and Curtis Elementary along with Eisenhower High School, where all of her children graduated.
Charlotte N. Werner Elementary School is under construction and is located at 1050 West Rialto Avenue in Rialto. The school is slated to open July 2008.
