Application Process

Certificated Employment Process
(ie: Teachers, Counselors, Nurses, Speech/Language/Hearing Teachers, etc.)

 

Applicants must visit www.EDJOIN.Org to apply electronically. Applications are accepted only as vacancies in specific areas exist. Applications must be complete with all requested information/documentation. Applications remain active for one year.

 

General Information


Individuals who are applying to this school district and hold an out-of-state credential may request additional information regarding California credential requirements by calling 800-835-2313 or (909)820-7700 ext. 2400.

 

Individuals, who have transcripts from outside the United States, MUST have them evaluated by an approved authorized company.  The following link will give you a list of those companies.

Certificated Application Process


Submit a completed application through www.EDJOIN.Org. Specific instructions regarding required documentation that needs to accompany the district application are noted on the individual job postings. Your file will not be considered complete without three (3) current letters of recommendation, a Resume, Unofficial Transcripts showing proof of degrees, and Credential information/copies. Candidate is responsible for providing these records.

 

Interview, Selection and Employment Procedures


As vacancies occur, applicants are contacted for interviews. Individuals not recommended for a specific vacancy will continue to be considered for other positions. After a final interview with a site Principal or Director of a Program, all formal offers of contract employment are made through the Personnel Services Office.

 

New Employees are required to provide proof of a negative Tuberculosis test (Mantoux skin test, unless an X-Ray is required). New employees are also required to submit to a pre-placement physical examination and a criminal background check verifying they are eligible to work in California schools and are required to provide verification of their authorization to work in the U.S.A. (PLEASE NOTE: There will be a fee for the criminal background check)

 

Because of the varied needs of our students, teachers new to the District are required to have a Cross Cultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) authorization or equivalent.

To apply for employment with our district you must apply for any open vacancies through www.EDJOIN.Org. Specific instructions regarding required documentation that needs to accompany the district application are noted on the individual job postings.

Applicants must apply through www.EDJOIN.Org prior to the filing deadline specified on the job posting. Applications or supporting materials will not be accepted after the closing date.

 

After the closing date, applications and supporting documentation are reviewed for qualifying information.

 

Examinations and Interview Process


Eligible applicants are notified of test date, time and place. Depending on job specific requirements, testing may include typing, written, and oral assessments. (Applicants must successfully pass all required test(s) in order to be considered further.)

 

Applicants are selected for an interview only after the candidates have successfully passed required tests.

 

Based on the total examination results, an eligibility list is established. Candidates receive written notice of results via email.

 

When future vacancies occur in the school district, the Personnel Office refers the names of the available candidates on the appropriate eligibility list and names of current employees who are on the transfer and reinstatement lists for final interviews.

 

Employment Policy
