General Information

The Child Development Department oversees the State Preschool and Pregnant and Parenting Teen Programs.

State Preschool Program is at all elementary sites except Fitzgerald and Hughbanks.

The Preschool Program runs on the red track.

All sites have a 3-hour morning and a 3-hour afternoon program.

Lunch is provided to the children.

The program is free to eligible families meeting the following requirements:

* Child is between 3 years and 5 years at the time of enrollment. Priority is given to 4-year-olds.
* Family qualifies according to low income eligibility
requirements.


Classes maintain a ratio of 1 adult to 8 children.

Teacher is fully qualified meeting all state requirements. Their college training focuses on child growth and development as well as school readiness.

Parents are invited to participate in the Preschool Parent Advisory Council which meets monthly.

School Readiness Teen Parent Program

School Readiness Teen Parent Program funded by First Five San Bernardino County, for pregnant and parenting teens, provides a variety of support services and child care while the teen parent completes their education.
