Leading Through Relationships, Learning, and Change
Purpose
The goal of the OTIS Leadership Program is to create a structured, multi-level student leadership experience that grows each year, building professional and interpersonal skills through hands-on learning, mentorship, and community engagement. The framework is rooted in CTE alignment, social-emotional growth, and real-world application.
Motto: “Your Passport to Financial Stability”
Mission: To develop financial literacy, career readiness, and global leadership through experiential learning in business, economics, and entrepreneurship.
Key Domains:
- Globalization & Culture
- Money & Banking
- Foreign Exchange & Logistics
- Compliance & Supply Chain
- Travel & Tourism
- Competitive Advantage in Micro & Macro-Economics
Phase 1: Cohort System Overview
Each academic year introduces a new cohort of students into the program. Cohorts progress through themed levels of development (Clay, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, and Blue Diamond). Every level expands on the prior one, ensuring that returning students build advanced leadership, business, and career readiness skills over time.
Phase 2: Leadership Levels
The program includes multiple recognition tiers based on growth and contribution. Each tier emphasizes a blend of personal, professional, and collaborative competencies.
Phase 3: Core Leadership Themes
- Relationships
- Motivation
- Change & Adaptability
- Strategic Thinking
- Global Mindset
- Conflict Resolution
These six pillars serve as guiding lenses for both instruction and reflection, helping students identify how leadership principles apply to real-world experiences.
Phase 4: Practical Implementation
From January through May, the leadership cohorts will engage in a sequence of structured experiences designed to strengthen their skills and apply learning.
Phase 5: Integration and Growth
Each returning cohort continues to deepen leadership experiences:
- Cohort 1 becomes peer mentors and field leaders.
- New Cohorts begin foundational work under guidance.
- All cohorts collectively contribute to guest speakers, community partnerships, and field trips that reinforce applied leadership.
Overview
This proposal maintains the integrity of the existing OTIS content but reorganizes the sequence to align with high school learners’ cognitive development and the natural progression of CTE business and leadership pathways.
The revised structure transitions logically from personal leadership to professional communication, then into business management, global enterprise, and finally executive leadership mastery.
