The Secondary English Language Arts program (6-12) in Rialto Unified School District focuses on strengthening students’ critical reading, analytical writing, academic discourse, and independent thinking skills needed for success in middle school, high school, college, career, and civic life. Through rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction, culturally responsive texts, and meaningful opportunities for discussion and writing, students learn to analyze complex texts, communicate effectively, and apply literacy skills across all subject areas. In partnership with teachers and families, our program supports all learners in developing the literacy skills necessary to navigate an increasingly complex and diverse world.
