Language Accessment Center
Language Assessment Center
The Language Assessment Center serves as Rialto Unified School District's central hub for language identification, assessment, and program placement services. Our team works to ensure every student's language needs are identified early and accurately, so they can access the instructional program that best supports their success.
What We Do
The Language Assessment Center coordinates initial and annual English language proficiency assessments, processes Home Language Surveys, and supports schools in placing students in the appropriate language program, including English Language Development (ELD), Structured English Immersion (SEI), and Dual Language Immersion (DLI). We also provide guidance to families navigating enrollment in our multilingual programs and support school sites with testing procedures and documentation.
Who We Serve
We serve RUSD families and students at every grade level, from incoming Kindergarteners to secondary students, including:
- Families enrolling a new student who may need a Home Language Survey or initial English proficiency assessment
- Families interested in enrolling their child in the Dual Language Immersion program
- Current English Learners undergoing annual progress monitoring
- School site staff seeking support with assessment procedures or program placement questions
