Requesting an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)

Parents have the right to request an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) if they disagree with an evaluation completed by the school district. Requests for an IEE are processed in accordance with the procedures established by the East Valley Special Education Local Plan Area (EVSELPA) and applicable state and federal special education laws.

Families interested in requesting an IEE should review the EVSELPA Independent Educational Evaluation Guidelines, which outline eligibility, the request process, evaluator qualifications, and other important requirements. Following these guidelines helps ensure requests are processed consistently and in a timely manner.
