Child Welfare & Attendance
The Department of Child Welfare and Attendance ensures all students have access to a safe, supportive, and equitable education. We promote regular attendance, manage disciplinary processes, and support vulnerable students, including foster youth and those experiencing homelessness. Serving as liaisons with schools, community agencies, and County Probation, we advocate for student rights, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and coordinate programs such as Independent Study and inter-district transfers. Through collaboration, data-driven practices, and targeted support, we remove barriers to learning and empower every student to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
