Prevention and Intervention Support Services
The Student Success Specialist supports prevention, intervention, and wellness services across the Rialto Unified School District. This role focuses on promoting student mental health and behavioral wellness through early identification, coordinated supports, and evidence-based, trauma-informed practices.
Working within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, the Student Success Specialist provides leadership and coordination across school-based programs that address social, emotional, and behavioral barriers to learning. This includes intervention support to students, consultation with teachers and school staff, and oversight of the day-to-day operation and implementation of Wellness Centers.
This position also provides professional development and guidance to school staff on mental health awareness, the impact of trauma, and effective intervention strategies. In collaboration with school sites, district departments, and community partners, the Student Success Specialist connects students, staff, and families to mental health and wellness resources that support healing, resilience, and overall well-being.

Ms. Sylvia Reed-Drake
Sylvia Reed-Drake, LMFT brings over 20 years of experience in mental health, behavioral health, and prevention-focused systems serving children, adolescents, families, and communities. Her professional background includes leadership roles across school districts, county behavioral health systems, and community-based organizations, with a strong emphasis on mental health, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, substance use prevention, and coordinated care.
In her role supporting student services, her work is grounded in early identification, trauma-informed practices, and cross-system collaboration, helping ensure students and families are connected to appropriate services and community resources to support optimum outcomes.
